Last month, Rovio made an announcement that its Facebook exclusive ‘Angry Birds Friends‘ game would soon be coming to the two popular mobile platforms and today, the company has released an iOS and an Android version of the game, each available as a free download. Users can now use their smartphones to challenge their Facebook friends while on the go, and also take part in weekly tournaments, with next one beginning on May 6th.
Once users take part in an Angry Birds Friends tournament, they can compete on mobile or Facebook, with progress synced across both platforms. “Download it today to get some practice in before it all begins” said Rovio. Every Monday, a different tournament is unveiled with new challenges, and the levels aren’t easy. To help navigate the game, players can use power-ups like King Sling, Super Seeds, and Birdquake, or they can call in Wingman to give them a boost on a level and earn a higher score.
