2022 11-inch iPad Pro to Feature Mini-LED Display Alongside 12.9-inch Model: Kuo

Apple is reportedly developing its 2022 11-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display. The display technology will reportedly be used not only for the larger 12.9-inch model but will also be available on the smaller model, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

As reported by MacRumors, Kuo has released a new investors note stating Apple’s plans to incorporate a mini-LED into the 11-inch iPad Pro in 2022. In the note, Kuo explains that the mini-LED technology will not only be used for the smaller iPad Pro model. Instead, Apple’s transition to utilizing the display tech will be more prominent as the company is looking at utilizing it for the 2022 models of its MacBook Air and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

This year, Apple debuted the mini-LED display on the 2021 12.9-inch iPad Pro. While it was released with a fair amount of critical reception, its sister, the 11-inch model, did not receive the mini-LED treatment. It would appear as though Apple would like to rectify that next time around.

On top of reports on the type of display, the 2022 iPad Pros may have, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman previously reported that next year’s models may have a glass back rather than aluminum. Additionally, Apple may be looking to introduce wireless charging to the iPad Pro line for the first time. Reverse charging may also be a feature if testing goes according to plan.
