Apple Nets 12 SAG Award Nominations for ‘CODA,’ ‘Ted Lasso,’ and More

Apple has earned a total of 12 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award nominations. Across original films and TV series on Apple TV+, nominations have been given for ‘CODA,’ ‘Ted Lasso,’ ‘The Morning Show,’ and more.

Apple has announced the laundry list of nominations it has been given ahead of the SAG Awards. Of the 12 nominations netted by Apple, five were given to Ted Lasso and its sophomore season. The series was given the following nominations:

  • Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series – Jason Sudeikis
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series – Brett Goldstein
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series – Hannah Waddingham
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series – Juno Temple

On top of that, Apple TV+ original series The Morning Show also received a lot of recognition from the SAG committee. Receiving four nominations, The Morning Show is recognized for:

  • Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series – Billy Crudup
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series – Jennifer Aniston
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series – Reese Witherspoon

Transitioning over to the film side of Apple TV+, two different films were up for nominations. One of which includes the critical darling CODA and the other, which recently landed on Apple TV+, is ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth.’

  • Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture – “CODA”
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role – Denzel Washington, “The Tragedy of Macbeth”
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role – Troy Kotsur, “CODA”

The 28th Annual SAG Awards will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022, through a live simulcast on TNT and TBS.
