iPhone 14 Pro Enters Trial Production as Design is Reportedly Finalized

The iPhone 14 Pro has reportedly entered the trial production phase at supplier Foxconn’s facilities. Apple’s upcoming Pro model of its flagship series is assumed to have finalized the design as it reaches this milestone.

Foxconn is said to be the manufacturer of the iPhone 14 Pro and has entered this new production phase, according to Taiwan Economic Times (via MacRumors). The supplier has entered the OEM trial production phase in order to ensure it will be able to meet Apple’s standards and execute mass production efficiently later this year.

Apple’s iPhone 14 has recently entered into trial production, and it is rumored Luxshare has not yet obtained the new product trial production into mass production service orders (NPI), and will not be able to OEM the best-selling, high-unit price, higher profit high-end iPhone 14, and may only get the basic iPhone 14 orders this year, becoming the second supplier.

After starting the trial production, the foundry has to collect data, correct abnormalities, evaluate the production process and the items that need to be improved, and assess whether the trial production is acceptable.

The report also states that Luxshare will be handling the manufacturing of Apple’s two entry-level iPhone 14 models.

This year’s iPhone is said to feature a redesign in many aspects. For instance, previous reports have indicated that Apple may ditch the notch in favour of a pill-shaped cutout for its front-facing camera. While other reports have claimed that Apple will replace the notch with a hole-punch design. Either way, it appears as though Apple will maintain the use of a front-facing camera for Face ID, photos, and FaceTime.

Additionally, design aspects are said to include resigned speaker grills for the iPhone 14 series. Apple may also be ridding the camera bump on the rear camera array. The volume buttons on the side of the device may also be swapped for circular ones. It has been reported that Apple intends to launch two 6.1-inch and two 6.7-inch models.

On top of design aspects, a leaker has claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro will have 8GB RAM. This will be the highest offering Apple has ever committed itself to, especially for its Pro models.
