MTS has announced it will expand its 4G LTE network in Manitoba to six new communities this year to Selkirk, Portage la Prairie, Steinbach, Ste. Anne, Grand Beach and Victoria Beach. Existing 4G LTE networks cover over 60 per cent of Manitoba’s population, according to president, Kelvin Shepherd:

“MTS’s 4G LTE Wireless Network currently covers more than 60 per cent of Manitoba’s population, and we’re pleased to be expanding to six more communities in 2013,” said Mr. Shepherd. “Over the next five years, MTS’s 4G LTE Wireless Network is poised to become substantially larger and reach even more Manitobans.”

Today the company announced its 25th anniversary of providing wireless services to Manitobans and celebrated at the MTS Connect Store in Winnipeg Square, where customers enjoyed free coffee, cake and contests prizes.

MTS earlier launched LTE in Winnipeg and Brandon back in the fall of 2012, which allows the carrier to offer the iPhone 5 and support data plans for the iPad.
