MTS has announced today they have partnered with SaskTel to allow its customers to roam on the latter’s 4G HSPA+ network, allowing extended cellular access (both companies offer the iPhone 5):
“Our new agreement with SaskTel significantly increases the 4G HSPA+ roaming coverage for MTS customers travelling or doing business in Saskatchewan,” said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. “In addition to coverage previously available to MTS customers in many Saskatchewan locations, we’re proud that our 4G HSPA+ roaming now extends throughout rural Saskatchewan.”
SaskTel’s 4G HSPA+ network covers 98% of the Saskatchewan population and is available on either side of Manitoba’s western border.
“Our strong relationship with SaskTel gives MTS customers access to the widest wireless network in Saskatchewan – just in time for the holiday season,” added Mr. Shepherd.
Back in late October, MTS announced they will soon support data plans for the iPad mini, with their 4G LTE network underway in Brandon and Winnipeg.
