The Rogers Redboard announced this morning the full list of cities and area set to be included in the developing expansion of their LTE network. A total of 28 cities will get LTE in 2012, on top of the existing 7 markets where the new high speed network is already in place. Just over a year ago, Rogers launched Canada’s first LTE network in Ottawa on July 7th.
By the end of 2012, 35 major areas will have access to LTE, covering 60 percent of the Canadian population. Here are the existing LTE-ready areas:

Is your current city part of the LTE network expansion? Rogers notes they have invested close to $500 million to expand their LTE network by the end of 2012. Apple’s next generation ‘iPhone 5’ is rumoured to be LTE-enabled, similar to the latest third generation iPad.

Doesn’t bell have LTE in all those areas already ? Rogers sucks
Neither Telus nor Bell currently have LTE in St. John’s yet… which still doesn’t really give Rogers any real credit, since outside St. John’s Rogers doesn’t even have 3G. All they have is spotty 2G EDGE service that barely extends two hours down the highway. After that – nothing. Bringing LTE to NL was nothing more than a PR stunt to say “we were here first!”
Meanwhile Telus and Bell both have HSPA+ that covers the entire province.
They do indeed. Already available in my town with the Bellus network just north of the GTA. No Rogers LTE here at all.
Not exactly. Bell doesn’t even exist in Manitoba.
Rogers is putting coverage in towns that are much smaller like Sherbrooke, Trois-Riveries, Saint Catherines which Bell and Telus do not have yet.
It don’t really matter who you get into bed with…. whether it be Telus, Rogers, or Bell they still all screw you in the end…..just saying
Yup. Plus, the iPhone doesn’t support LTE anyway, so the point is moot. Maybe in the next iPhone ….
Rogers is bringing LTE to Regina and Saskatoon SK. The rest of the province stuck on Edge even though Rogers has been promising HSPA+/HSPA for years.
