Fido ‘Winback’ Offer: $40/25GB Plan with $200 Device Credit for BC and AB in Response to Shaw Mobile

After news of Rogers offering a $40/25GB ‘winback’ plan yesterday, we’re now seeing a similar offer for the company’s sub brand, Fido, specifically for those in British Columbia and Alberta.

According to RFD, Fido has apparently been contacting former customers offering them a ‘winback’ offer in the form of:

  • $45 plan with 25GB plan after mentioning Shaw Mobile
  • $5 off credit for 24 months starting on the 2nd or 3rd billing cycle
  • $40 activation fee waived and credited on 2nd or 3rd billing cycle
  • $200 hardware credit
  • SIM card to be mailed to customer’s home

The RFD user offered this Fido winback plan had ported out to Freedom Mobile last week, only to receive an email from Fido two days later about an upcoming offer, only to be discussed on the phone. Three days after the email was received, the Fido winback department offered the terms above.

Another user noted they were also offered a similar deal as the original poster, and also got a 64GB iPhone 11 too, on a $30/month tab contract, utilizing the $200 device credit.

Shaw Mobile launched in late July for customers in B.C. and Alberta, offering an introductory $45/25GB plan with unlimited data. The company had stated it expected a response from incumbents and now we’re seeing similar plans being offered, but only to ‘winback’ former customers in these western provinces.
