TekSavvy Announces IPTV Launch in Ottawa, Ontario

TekSavvy has announced they will be launching a television service for customers in Ottawa, Ontario. The IPTV service is through its affiliate cable company Hastings Cable Vision.

With TekSavvy TV, the IPTV service will offer “over 100 HD channels of sports, movies, series and kids programming including video-on-demand content from selected TV channels,” according to a press release.

“Our customers are asking for innovative, competitive Canadian television alternatives and TekSavvy TV is delivering more value with a great, easy-to-use experience on a device that they already own. We look forward to adding more devices, more features, and more channels, and rolling out to more areas in the coming months,” said Marc Gaudrault, CEO of TekSavvy and President of Hastings Cable Vision, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada.



TekSavvy customers in Ottawa can sign up for the new IPTV service through their online account portal. TekSavvy TV is currently available as an app on Apple TV, Android TV and on Amazon Fire Stick. The service requires TekSavvy residential Internet with a minimum download speed of 15 Mbps.

Chatham-based TekSavvy says it is Canada’s largest independent telecom service company with over 300,000 customers and recently launched IPTV in its hometown.
