Koodo to Release $60 ‘Canada-Wide Super 6GB’ Plan

More 6GB voice and data plan deals are coming your way, and this time it’s from the sub-brand of Telus, Koodo (which just recently offered iPhone unlocking). They plan on introducing the ‘Canada-Wide Super 6GB’ plan for $60/month starting next week until August 6th, reports MobileSyrup.

The plan will include:

  • 250 Canada Wide minutes
  • 5PM evenings/weekends
  • Unlimited incoming calls
  • Unlimited text and picture messages
  • Caller ID and Voicemail
  • 6GB data
  • $60/month

If you don’t have 6GB data and want it, now seems to the time to jump on these ‘deals’. Just this week we saw 6GB promos from Rogers and Bell/Virgin. This is a decent deal because it includes caller ID and voicemail and 6GB of data for $60/month.

Let us know if you’re going to jump on this in the comments! Don’t you just love competition?

Koodo is non gsm right? So I can’t buy a plan and pop in the sim in my factory unlocked 4S

Koodo, as a sub-brand from Telus, operates on an HSPA network, which uses SIM cards. Although it’s true they don’t have a GSM network, that technology is outdated, especially if your in an area that has access to 3G or 3.5G. So to answer your question; if you have an unlocked iPhone you can pop in a Koodo SIM card and use it.

Koodo is HSPA (same network as TELUS) — check out their site or call in to check if your phone works with them?

Will Koodo (being Telus sub brand) offer LTE?

I hope so. I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4S with Koodo and I’m thinking about leaving them cause the new iPhone will be LTE and I don’t wanna lose that privilege.

Telus is GSM and CDMA, so if you have an iPhone 4S that is unlocked, you can certainly pop in a Telus Sim Card and it should work. Granted it’s registered with Telus I believe

This is actually quite a good deal, unlike the Rogers version.

Has this plan been officially released yet? I called koodo yesterday asking about it and they refused knowing anything about this new $60 plan..

If someone plans to change for Koodo, reply to this and I’ll provide a code for us both to have 25$ off the tab right away.

Is there a trick to get on this with an iPhone? It seems like this is BB/Koodo phones only.

The problem with this deal is that the voice mail is NOT Visual voice mail iPhone users are use to I talked to Koodoo and they apparently don’t offer visual voice mail to anyone. So I am no longer so sure I want to switch to them form Fido.
