Koodo has been sending out additional data offers to customers via text message, with some customers seeing offers such a monthly $15 charge for 2.5GB of data.
The RFD user who received this noted the text was received after a couple months of going over their data plan. The message reads:
GREAT NEWS…you’ve earned this exclusive offer. Reply MORE to add 2.5 GB of additional data to your plan for $15 per month. Offer expires on Sep 02, 2017. You’re included on the list for Koodo offers and deals. To be excluded, reply unsubscribe or visit…
Other users have noted they’ve received similar text messages, ranging from $10/month for 1.5GB, $5/month for 750MM, and $10/month for 1GB or $5/month for 500MB. Seems like the prices are varying by user.
Koodo currently charges $5/100M or $50/1GB for data overages, while Rogers/Fido and Bell/Virgin recently increased their prices to $7/100MB or $70/1GB.
Paying extra monthly from these text offers from Koodo appear to be cheaper than paying for data overages.

I have received this offer twice in the past.
I get these if I got over 95% of my data a few months in a row. It’s usually 1.5GB for $10 or 750MB for $5. I haven’t been offered 2.5GB yet.
