Telus flanker brand, Koodo Mobile, is back at it again sending out offers to some users via text message. The latest promotion is offering a $75 plan with 15GB, when users “upgrade your phone with Tab Small or Tab Medium,” being sent out to some existing customers in Ontario.
Here’s what the main part of the text message offer reads (via RFD):
Koodo: Redeem your exclusive offer by October 2, 2018 through Self Serve (no $30 Connection Fee!) at http://koo.do/your15GBOffer or at your closest Koodo location.
The user who received this message on RFD was on Koodo’s $60/10GB no tab plan, and was located in Ontario. Sadly, this upgrade offer is not eligible towards Tab Large or Extra Large, which would mean more premium smartphones.
Some RFD members who received this plan are calling it out as a “shameless cash grab”, since it looks like Koodo is just trying to bump up average revenue per user (ARPU) metrics. Some are saying it’s a way to get people hooked on using more data per month.
