Ahead of its annual general meeting this week, Telus today has announced it will invest an additional $1.6 billion in BC for 2015 and 2016 to expand its infrastructure in the province.
Added to the existing $1.2 billion slated for 2014 (as part of their previous 3 year plan from 2012), the company is set to invest $2.8 billion through 2016.
The money this year will be used to deploy its 700MHz spectrum in rural and urban areas, on top of ongoing expansion of its Optik TV, internet, healthcare and finish the construction of its Telus Garden office tower in Vancouver.
The company recently spent $1.14 billion for 30 licenses in the Federal Government’s recent 700MHz spectrum auction.
