Videotron Adds Saavn to Unlimited Music Service

South Asia’s leading audio entertainment streaming platform, Saavn, has become the 19th music app to join Videotron’s Unlimited Music service today. New York-based Saavn features Bollywood, Hindi and Indian regional music for streaming.

Videotron’s Unlimited Music allows customers to stream music apps without using any of their data plan. The service includes Apple Music, along with Spotify, Google Play Music, SoundCloud, Deezer and Stingray Music, as some of the popular apps available.

Bertrand Hébert, Vice President, Marketing of Videotron, said in a statement, “Saavn enriches Unlimited Music’s offerings, opening up a whole new world of music,” adding “We are pleased to bring our customers an ever-expanding musical selection thanks to agreements such the one we have just signed with Saavn.”

Gairik Bhattacharya, VP of Carrier Partnerships at Saavn, said “We hope listening to Saavn will enhance and elevate the experience for users in Canada.”

Videotron customers on a Premium mobile plan get included access to Unlimited Music, which is available across the company’s LTE network, which covers about 90% of Quebec’s population.

The Unlimited Music service launched back in August 2015 and supported Apple Music last November. Neither Rogers, Telus or Bell offer a similar music streaming service that does not use a customer’s data plan.
