Last fall, Google announced the rebranding of the consumer version of Google Drive to Google One, offering new benefits and family sharing for its cloud storage.
An email sent out this morning to Google One members in Canada is saying you can get any movie rental for $1.49.
“Because you’re a Google One member, your next movie rental on Google Play is just $1.49. Choose from thousands of movies, from classics to the latest box office hits, and watch on the screen of your choice. Just add popcorn,” explains the email.
The fine print says the promo is “Open to select participants who receive a promotional code from Google One. Offer ends December 31, 2019. Discount applied at checkout. Redeem by September 30, 2019.”
Users who rent a movie have 30 days to watch it and 48 hours to finish watching once you start. Google says this offer is only valid in Canada and a Google payments account is required.
For Apple users, you can watch your rented or purchased Google Play movies within the YouTube app on Apple TV 4/4K, iPhone or iPad. With the YouTube app on Apple TV, sign into your Google Account, head to your Library and then down to Purchases. Your rented title will be available for streaming right away.
