How to Fix iBooks Error After iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak: iBooksFix2 via Cydia

Some people are running into the iBooks ‘configuration error’ after their untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak:

There is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone. Please restore with iTunes and reinstall iBooks.

In order to fix this, you can install iBooksFix2, from the insanelyi.com repo via Cydia. This fix is an updated version of iBooks Fix we previously detailed, which was introduced during the days of the Greenp0ison 4.2.1 jailbreak.

Here’s How to Fix the iBooks Error via Cydia

1. Launch Cydia –> Manage –> Sources –> Edit –> Add

2. Enter the following repository: http://repo.insanelyi.com , tap Add Source.

3. Search for’iBooksFix2’ and install it.

Reboot your iPhone afterwards, and iBooks should load properly again. Let us know if this fix works for you.

Thanks @AssadWUddin

Using an iPod Touch 4 jailbroken on iOS 5.0.1. No problems, works like a charm! Just do a full reboot, the springboard reload wont patch it.

Download iBook fix from Xsellize, then SBSetting, in the setting scroll down and in system wide options, go to system options, and fix on top, then iBooks works!

Here are more clear directions because i got confused with yours.

1.) download ibook fix from Zsellize
2.) after you download the fix. DO NOT OPEN IT, LEAVE IT ALONE AND GO TO NEXT STEP. the ibooks icon will appear on your winterboard. leave it alone
3.) download SBSettings (its got a smily face as the logo to the left of it), you can search for it in cydia as well
4.) after you download that, go to settings on your iphone, then notifications, then scroll all the way to the bottom and you should see SBSettings, click on it or touch it whatever, then swipe “on”, that way this will show up in your notifications center
5.) swipe down on your iphone to open the notifications center and there might be a blank rectangle box, put your finger on that blank box and swipe to the right and youll see some stuff some up (More, Refresh, Drop Win, Respring, and Power), if you see these things already then just ignore what i said, i dunno for me it was blank until i swiped at it.
6.)tap on the “more” button and it will take you into the settings of SBSettings
7.)scroll to the bottom and tap on system options
8.) at the top it will say “Fix User Dir Permissions”, tap on that and a warning will pop up, just ignore it and tap okay to continue.
9.) it will then respring your device after you tap on that, go ahead to that untouched ibooks icon, tap on it and it works!!

i have tried every single thing on here and it hasnt worked. but this finally did. i am also running on Iphone 4, iOS 5.0.1 redsnow unthetered jailbreak
