As we noted earlier this week, the Mapleview Centre Apple Store was set to have its grand opening today in Burlington, and the first 1000 visitors would receive free t-shirts. Apple didn’t disappoint as the store opened this morning to a line up of eager and happy visitors.

Why do people have to be so fanatical about a store opening? It’s sad that humans would unlikely do the same for a worthy cause like saving the planet or human rights.
I don’t get it.
I have lined up at the Apple Store when there is a new product being released (iPhones, iPads) and the cheering and stuff by the employees makes sense because releases of such revolutionary products are a big deal.
But when a new store opens? It’s not like Southern Ontario doesn’t have other stores around, it isn’t THAT much of a novelty any more.

I came at 9:30 thinking no one was there. Boom the line was spiraling in circles. I did get the free t-shirt after a 30 min wait to get into the store. Very beautiful store and pleasant.

Got a free shirt, wearing it now, was not part of first 1000 (insider – was really 1500) but were I work did apple a favor and they also did us a favor and gave us some shirts lol. Can’t say much,
