Google Maps Web App to Get Street View on Thursday

Earlier it was reported by the NYT that Google Street View would make its way to the Google Maps web app in two weeks, which numerous iOS users have been using for transit directions. Apple CEO recommended the latter within his apology letter for Apple Maps.

Now, AllThingsD points us to Walt Mossberg’s Google Maps for Android review where he reveals Google Street View will be coming to the web app this Thursday:

Google plans to announce on Thursday that it is adding its popular Street View feature, missing from Apple’s maps, to the Web version of Google Maps accessed from the iPhone and iPad. I tested this addition, which displays 360-degree photographic street views of selected locations, and interior photographic views of certain businesses, using sample links Google sent me. These links worked well, allowing me to see the locations and pan around with a finger.

So there you have it. Mark your calendars for this Thursday–Google Street View will make its way back to iOS. This feature was a widely by iPhone and iPad users for quickly previewing street addresses and directions. Who’s excited for this?
