Apple’s Suppliers Preparing For Fall iPhone 5

According to a new DigiTimes report, Apple’s upstream suppliers have been given orders to begin preparation for the production of next iPhone.

The rumored and upcoming device is expected in September/October 2011.

Taiwan-based companies included in the supply chain for iPhone 5 and iPad 3 have begun to prepare materials for the production of the two devices, which are likely to make their debuts in September and to hit the market in October, according to industry sources.

The report further estimates that only one model of iPhone 5 will be released, reaching supply volume of 6-7 million units in the third quarter. We previously posted about a possible September 9th iPhone 5 launch. It appears a Fall launch is very likely at this point, and would coincide perfectly with iOS 5.
