Back near the end of April 2012, Pod2g gave us an ETA of at least a month until he could release his newest jailbreak. He has made some significant progress since then, confirming his jailbreak will work on all A4 and A5 devices. Today, he told his Twitter followers that he is still a few weeks away, as they want to make a nice, user friendly jailbreak tool to release to the public.

Earlier, Pod2g did confirm that his new jailbreak will work in iOS 5.1.1.

The entire jailbreaking community is closely watching pod2g’s progress. This jailbreak includes a device that has not yet been publicly jailbroken, the new iPad. It is always a huge deal when that happens. A lot of themes and tweaks will need to be updated, to fit the new iPad’s retina display. Plus, there are a lot of jailbreakers who are stuck at a firmware that can’t be jailbroken, and others who are unhappy with a tethered jailbreak.
