If you’ve been eyeing Apple’s latest 15.4-inch Retina MacBook Pro which debuted in October 2013 with Intel’s latest Haswell CPU, one model has hit Apple.ca’s refurbished store:

  • Refurbished 15.4-inch MacBook Pro 2.0GHz Quad-core Intel i7 with Retina Display
  • Originally released October 2013
  • 15.4-inch (diagonal) Retina display; 2880-by-1800 resolution at 220 pixels per inch?
  • 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
  • 256GB Flash Storage1
  • 720p FaceTime HD camera
  • Intel Iris Pro Graphics
This refurb will save you $310 versus a brand new configuration, which costs $2,049.00. The Haswell MacBook Pro has faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Thunderbolt 2, along with 8 hours of battery life.
All Apple refurbs are good as new and have a full one year warranty, but don’t come in the shiny new box. Sometimes, refurb configurations received have higher hard drive capacities than what was ordered.

    No dedicated GPU, no thanks.

It might missing data, because mine has a dedicated GPU and the integrated GPU as well, for a total of 1.5gig. And it handles Diablo III really well, full res and 30 fps. And its the ivy Bridge version.

  • bionicmonk

The Ivy Bridge is from 2012, not 2013. The 2013 ones suck unless you want to shell out the big bucks for the integrated GPU. The 2012s Ivy Bridges had the dedicated gpu even on the lower priced models. A bit of a kick in the bum, that is.

Yeah, I bought it when they first come out, I didn’t realise they pulled the GPU, thats stupid. Having two GPUs is great, its so quiet and only kicks on the other one when its needed. Glad I didn’t wait for the Haswell

Having two GPUs is great! And you’re right, the laptop is quiet as a mouse even under strain. HIGH FIVE LAPTOP BUBBDY! 🙂
