Apple’s AirPods Now Ship in 1-2 Weeks Ahead of ‘iPhone 8’ Event

Apple has improved shipping times for AirPods once again, as times are now showing as 1-2 weeks, ahead of next week’s highly anticipated ‘iPhone 8’ special event.

In late August, times improved to 2-3 weeks from 4 weeks, and as we near the company’s new iPhone announcements, times have improved yet again.

With iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus lacking a 3.5mm headphone jack, wireless headphones are the way to go, unless you’re using the company’s included Lightning to 3.5mm adapter.

With new iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and ‘iPhone 8’ models expected to also lack a 3.5mm headphone jack, Apple is ramping up AirPods production and improving shipping times, as new users surely will want to order these headphones.

While AirPods can also be found at brick and mortar Apple resellers such as Best Buy, The Source and more, those who rely on shipping from Apple.ca will be pleased to finally see improved shipping times.

Oh I can’t wait until we can stop referring to it as iPhone 8… I hope I’m not wrong because I don’t want to eat a crow on this one!

I’m thinking 8, 8 Plus, 8 Pro or Edition

Here is my radical thinking for next years lineup.

Current 4” iPhone SE discontinued.

iPhone SE — 4.7” variant
iPhone — rumoured 5.8” variant
iPhone Plus — rumoured 6.5” variant

With the rumoured 5.8 having almost the same form factor as the current 4.7 I don’t see why they would continue going forward with that line. I think dropping it to the “affordable for everyone” range makes more sense. The SE has been too successful, especially a broad, to discontinue the line completely; so a bump in size will be a nice edition.
A larger Plus size screen makes sense to compete with Samsung and once people start using the rumoured iPhone in a couple weeks, there will be a demand for a larger size especially since there are rumours already floating.
