Amazon Canada has launched a new delivery method to send an eGift Card, as you can now do so via text message, expanding this option beyond the U.S. for the first time.

According to the company in a statement to iPhone in Canada, “Now customers will never miss a birthday or a thank you. It’s also fun and easy to send a surprise gift since you can customize the eGift Card from your mobile device by uploading your own images.”
Beyond sending an eGift card via mail and email, here’s how to send an Amazon eGift Card via text message:
1. Visit amazon.ca/giftcards and choose “Text Message” as the delivery method on the purchase page.
2. Choose an amount, enter the recipient’s mobile number and write a personal note to accompany the gift card.
3. Recipients will receive a text message with a link to their gift card, which can be redeemed instantly on Amazon.
On top of sending eGift cards via mail, email and now text message, customers can also send them via Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and more by using the iOS Sharesheet via the Amazon iOS app.
