Amazon to Hire 700 Positions at New Alberta Facilities

Amazon has announced it will be hiring over 700 positions at new buildings in Alberta, with roles to support customer fulfillment and delivery operations in the province.

According to the company, over 600 of these jobs will be full-time positions at the new 1 million square-foot fulfillment centre in Nisku. These jobs will see employees pick, pack and ship larger goods to customers.

Also, Amazon says new part-time and full time jobs will be filled at new delivery stations in Calgary and Nisku, with various shift schedules and responsibilities.

“Permanent roles at Amazon come with an industry-leading minimum wage of at least $16 an hour (and up), and a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one, including full medical, vision and dental insurance,” reads a company press release. All applicants must be 18 years or older.

Amazon’s new Nisku facility is located at the Border Business Park, located south of Edmonton.
