Greg Keeley, Executive Vice President, Global Corporate Payments, American Express, said in a statement “Businesses today are going digital, and American Express is at the forefront of digital innovation, helping companies to streamline their payments systems and simplify their processes.”
Montreal-based editor of iMore, Rene Ritchie, shared he was able to add his Mobile Nations corporate American Express card to Apple Pay and use it locally (here’s our tutorial on how to add a setup Apple Pay in Canada with a supported credit card):
While Apple Pay is currently limited to the U.S. and UK, this move by American Express to support corporate cards could also trickle into Canada, if and when the mobile payment service debuts here.
The Wall Street Journal reported in April Apple Pay is said to launch in Canada this November.
