French Radio Claims Apple Event Scheduled for September 12

It looks like Apple might be holding next month’s highly-anticipated event on September 12.

According to French radio station Europe 1 (via MacRumors), citing two anonymous sources, has claimed that Apple’s sacred September event will be held on Wednesday, September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, with the keynote beginning at 10 am local time.

Europe 1‘s claim makes sense as it lines up with previous reports that speculate the same date, as it occurs during the second week of September — the event has followed this pattern for the past six years. Since September begins on a Saturday and includes the American holiday Labor Day, Apple is unlikely to push up the event, most likely leaving it again to the second week of the month.

“Apple has never hosted an iPhone event on Monday, Thursday, or Friday in the month of September,” reads MacRumors‘s report. “Always on Tuesday or Wednesday. September 12 falls on a Wednesday this year.”

Additionally, according to the report, Apple’s incoming products should begin between the Thursday and the next Tuesday after the event. A number of international carriers have (unintentionally) announced that preorders for the new iPhone lineup will begin on September 14, again pointing towards the 12th being the correct date of the event.

Obviously, the exact date won’t be known until Apple sends out media invitations to the event, which will likely be coming in the next several days.
