Apple iOS 12 to Bring Great Improvements to the Camera and Portrait Mode

Apple’s iOS 12 packs a number of improvements which the company didn’t get a chance to show at its WWDC keynote. According to one developer, one of these enhancements is a greatly improved Portrait mode.

The images below showcase the difference between a Portrait mode photo taken with an iPhone running iOS 11 and another taken with an iPhone running iOS 12.

In some cases, Portrait mode works wonders and you get a fantastic photo with perfect background blur. However, in most cases, Portrait mode is disappointing because it will blur the edges of your subject as well.

It seems as though Apple is continuing to improve Portrait mode. As you can tell from the photo above, the software does a much better job of identifying the edges of a subject.
