Apple No Longer Sells Rival Headphones and Speakers, as New Products Near

New Apple products are around the corner, based on the iPhone maker’s modifications of rival products in its online store.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Bose headphones and speakers, along with Logitech Ultimate Ears speakers and the Sonos One SL have all disappeared from Apple’s online store, a move made in late September.

Gurman also reports Apple Stores were also “instructed to remove the products for sale at stores in recent days. Shares of Sonos fell as much as 7% in extended trading following the news.”

Bloomberg has long reported some Apple-branded over-ear headphones could be coming soon (dubbed AirPods Studio), while a smaller version of Apple’s HomePod speaker is also in the works.

Responding to the story, Apple told Bloomberg it “regularly makes changes to the products it sells as new third-party accessories are released and the needs of customers change.” Apple also emphasized it has a curated selection of third party accessories to help customers as well.

We can definitely confirm Apple.ca no longer lists rival products anymore as mentioned in story. Apple is rumoured to hold an iPhone event on October 13 and invites or announcements could be made tomorrow.
