Beats has announced its latest noise-cancelling headphones, the Beats Solo Pro, which sport an astounding 40-hour battery life.

According to a new report from TechCrunch, the new wireless cans are the Apple-owned company’s first on-ear headphones that come with active noise cancellation, detecting and blocking environmental noise, whether you’re on a noisy airplane or trying to work in a busy cafe.
The headphones use the company’s Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling (Pure ANC), “derived from the over-ear Studio3 Wireless, with updated tuning to accommodate the on-ear form factor,” Beats says. With a tap of a button, users can turn off the noise-cancelling to save battery life or hit the button a second time to enter a transparency mode that allows users to hear the outside world.
Beats says that the new headphones build upon the sound profile of the Solo3 Wireless, using a “refined driver with optimized diaphragm geometries,” which should provide an “exceptional frequency response with lower total harmonic distortion”. In other words, you should be able to hear your music in fantastic detail.
The Solo Pro headphones use the same Apple H1 chip that Apple uses in the newest AirPods, and which Beats uses in the in-ear Powerbeats Pro. That’s important since the H1 chip allows users to pair your headphones to an iPhone or iPad just as easily as AirPods.
Also, as with the AirPods and Powerbeats Pro, these headphones are compatible with Apple’s new Audio Sharing feature that allows you to pair two headphones simultaneously to any Apple device running iOS 13 or higher, so you can listen to the same music or watch the same video with a friend.
The Beats Solo Pro noise-cancelling headphones cost $379.95 CAD and come in six different colours: black, ivory, gray, dark blue, light blue and red. They’re available for pre-order today and delivery by October 31 in Canada.
