Costco Stops Selling Apple iTunes Gift Cards in Canada

Costco has long been a source of discounted iTunes gift cards, offering Apple users a chance to save up to 16% off instantly on the company’s digital services. By funding your Apple ID with discounted cards from Costco, it results in savings on app purchases, in-app purchases, subscriptions such as Apple One and more.

But now it appears Costco Canada no longer sells Apple’s iTunes gift cards, as they were taken off the company’s website this week, and also no longer listed in the system at warehouses, iPhone in Canada has learned.

As of yesterday, Costco.ca had a placeholder for iTunes gift cards but the link went to a 404. As of Tuesday morning, the iTunes gift cards thumbnail has been removed altogether on the website’s Apple listings page.

Sales of the remaining stock of iTunes gift cards at our local warehouse ended last week and the system notes the item is now slated for deletion.

Costco has been selling discounted iTunes cards as far back as 2017, offering up to a 21% discount at warehouses and a smaller discount online. Eventually, online iTunes gift card sales matched warehouses, and the latter also moved to e-delivery.

Without discounted iTunes gift cards for sale at Costco, that means Apple customers won’t be able to save on digital purchases. Of course, the removal of the product comes at a time when our iTunes balance is running low. Go figure.
