DJI Mavic Pro Drone Debuts, Best Buy Offers 10% Off Pre-Orders

DJI has announced the Mavic Pro Camera Drone, which is now more portable than ever, since it is foldable, showing us these flying quadcopters continue to get easier to carry, like GoPro’s recent Karma drone announcement.

The Mavic Pro is $50 USD cheaper than GoPro’s offering, priced at $749 USD for the drone alone, or $999 USD with the controller. Bring on the drone wars, folks.

The Mavic Pro (750 grams) can shoot 4K video, again can be controlled by your iOS device, plus comes with a pocket-sized remote controller. The range of the Mavic is 7 kilometres (4.3 miles). The drone’s sport mode can reach 64.8 KM/H (40 mph), while it comes with four tracking modes and automatic obstacle avoidance. Battery life will allow up to 27 minutes of flight time.

All folded up below, the Mavic Pro looks like a Transformer and pretty compact (you can bet Casey Neistat will start using this):

The Mavic Pro doesn’t come cheap in Canada though, as it’s available for pre-order right now from Apple.ca for $1349.95. However, Best Buy right now is offering 10% off pre-orders, which is not bad, saving you $135. The Mavic Pro will release for sale on October 31, 2016.
