Google has just released the first beta of Android 12 for Pixel and other Android smartphones, giving users a look into some of the features that will be available in future releases.
According to Google, Android 12 introduces the biggest design change in Android’s history. From the colours to the shapes, light, and motion, everything has been revamped.
Starting with Android 12 on Pixel devices, users will be able to completely personalize their phone with a custom colour palette and redesigned widgets.
Notification shade, quick settings and even the power button have been reimagined to help users get things done. To make sure you always have help from Google at your fingertips, you can now long-press the power button to invoke Assistant to make a phone call.
Android 12 includes new features that give users more transparency around which apps are accessing user data, and more controls so that users can make informed choices about how much private information their apps can access.
Google has also added a new indicator to the top right of the status bar so users know when their apps are accessing the microphone or camera.
Google says there are a lot more features coming to Android 12 later this year.
