Facebook Launches New Corporate Logo But App Branding Remains

New facebook company brand

Facebook has launched a new company logo today–called Facebook:

Today, we’re updating our company branding to be clearer about the products that come from Facebook. We’re introducing a new company logo and further distinguishing the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding.

The company says in the next few weeks users will start to see “from Facebook” branding in all their apps, such as Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, Workplace, Portal and Calibra, while also debuting a new company website.

Below is an example of new branding coming to Instagram for iOS, set to show a “from Facebook” along the bottom:

“The new branding was designed for clarity, and uses custom typography and capitalization to create visual distinction between the company and app,” explained a company blog post.

Reports of Facebook branding changes were reported back in August by The Information.
