“At Fido, we have always focused on delivering value to our customers, offering them the latest devices and wireless services at a great price,” said John Boynton, executive vice-president of marketing, Fido. “Consumers in the region will benefit from having access to additional choice and greater value when choosing their next wireless provider.” “The expansion of the Fido brand to the Maritimes fosters competition for the market which is great for the consumer and it offers a significant growth opportunity in this important market,” said Cameron McFadyen, director of marketing, Fido.

Fido services will be available in Prince Edward Island, at retailers such as Glentel, the Apple Store, Future Shop, Best Buy, Walmart and Loblaws Superstores, and Fido locations scheduled for this summer are in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and an additional 20 third-party locations.

What is great news is that Fido customers in the Maritimes will have access to high speeds on the LTE network, which will be available in the following locations: Halifax, Sydney, Kentville, Nova Scotia, Moncton, Bathurst and New Brunswick. The carrier has plans to expand its LTE coverage by the end of this year to cities such as Saint John, Fredericton, and Miramichi NB, Charlottetown PEI, Truro and New Glasgow NS.
