Gaming Drove 1 Billion Tweets Globally on Twitter in 2018

According to the latest statistics from Twitter, gaming was the primary factor that resulted in a whopping 1 billion Tweets globally on the social network in 2018. Gamers from all over the world discussed the most anticipated game titles on Twitter all year long.

Gaming fans also took to Twitter to cheer on their favourite esports teams and to join a community of passionate, like-minded fanatics from around the globe.

Twitter’s data shows that Canadians were especially drawn to Fortnite, Overwatch and Call of Duty, making them the top three most mentioned games by Canadians in 2018.
