Google has officially announced its new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones, at its online Pixel Fall Launch event. Both smartphones will feature the latest innovations in Artificial Intelligence and machine learning right on the smartphones.
Google Tensor is the company’s first in-house designed processor, offering up to 80% faster performance than Pixel 5 and 370% better GPU performance.
Tensor will launch apps faster and allow for more responsive gaming, plus offer Google’s advanced on-device artificial intelligence, plus offer faster and more accurate image processing and speech recognition. Google says Tensor is also power-efficient as well to improve battery life.
Both phones also have under-display fingerprint unlocking, while are made of recycled aluminum. New Google Pixel 6 cases are also made from recycled materials as well.
The company details Live Translate, which lets users chat with people and a variety of languages across text, camera and video captioning. The feature works with English, French, German, Italian and a beta version in Japanese. Live Translate detects if a message received in a chat app like WhatsApp or Snap is in a different language, then processes a translation on-device, no network needed.
