iOS 13 May Include New Animoji: Cow, Octopus, Mouse, Emoji Face

Animoji ios 12

Developer Steve Troughton-Smith is known for digging into iOS code, and his latest tweet has alluded to new features coming in iOS 13, which he says will include new Animojis.

According to Troughton-Smith, he writes “It looks like iOS 13 might get some new Animoji: a cow, octopus, mouse, and an emoji face. That last one sounds like it has potential for shenanigans.”

He also CC’d fellow developer and Apple code sleuth, Guilherme Rambo, who writes for 9to5Mac and has been slowly sharing tidbits of what’s coming for Apple’s next version of macOS.

It’s unclear how Troughton-Smith was able to get his hands on iOS 13, or if this information is from an anonymous source. We’ll have to wait for WWDC 2019 in June to find out.

Apple’s Animoji feature is for iPhone X or later or 2018 iPad Pro models, allowing users to create their own facial features in the form of an animated character, via Face ID camera hardware.

Currently, there are 25 Animoji characters available: monkey, robot, cat, dog, alien, fox, poop emoji, pig, panda, rabbit, chicken, unicorn, lion, dragon, skull, bear, tiger, koala, dinosaur and ghost emoji. Apple added a giraffe, shark, owl and boar back in February with iOS 12.2.

Do you still use Apple’s Animojis?
