Next week will kick off Apple’s 2011 WWDC, and right now rumours are rampant about what we can expect to be announced. We’ve seen Apple invite members of the British and Australian media to the keynote.
TechCrunch is reporting their sources have told them some interesting news about what’s coming from iOS 5. The connection today is that Apple’s PR team is also the team behind–iOS. Their sources mention Nuance technology won’t be implemented in Voice Control, which will apparently remain the same. Also, they believe there won’t be any new hardware announcements at WWDC as of now.
Another hint by their sources, which is the biggest one of all, is that the debut of completely revamped notifications and the inclusion of widgets. We’ve seen iOS 5 concept videos demonstrating widgets–could they be coming soon?
The theme here is WWDC will bring some big news from Apple. The deleted tweet by Australian tech reporter Charlie Brown, in my mind is the ultimate slip up. That right there just proves Apple wants to ensure every single media outlet will cover what they have to say come June 6th. iOS is in desperate need of a revamp to compete with and stay ahead of Android OS.
