How does iPhone 13 battery life compare to the iPhone 12 from last year? Apple told customers this year battery improvements were going to be huge this year at its special event.
According to Apple, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has “the best battery life ever on iPhone,” offering 2.5 more hours compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 12 Pro Max. As for the iPhone 13 Pro, it gets 1.5 more hours of battery life than the iPhone 12 Pro.
As for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, Apple touts there is a “huge leap in battery life you’ll notice every day,” mentioning how the iPhone 13 gets 2.5 hours more compared to its predecessor, and the iPhone 13 mini gets 1.5 hours more compared to the iPhone 12 mini.
PCMag’s Sascha Segan put Apple’s iPhone 13 battery life claims to the test, running a video over Wi-Fi until no more power is left. The results left him impressed with the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 mini, both seeing some major increases in battery life.

As you can see, there are some big battery life improvements across the entire iPhone 13 lineup. For the iPhone 13 Pro Max, Segan says “this is real two-day battery life.”

When it comes to iPhone 13 battery life versus iPhone 12 over 5G networks, Tom’s Guide did their own battery life tests, which involved continuously surfing the web over 5G with screen brightness at 150 nits.
As expected, the battery life champ is the iPhone 13 Pro Max, able to surf over 5G for 12 hours and 13 minutes, an increase compared to last year’s iPhone 12 Pro Max at 10 hours and 53 minutes in their tests. Overall, the iPhone 13 series smartphones offer a “big step up in battery life”, says Tom’s Guide.
