Welcome to iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch Series 2 launch day in Canada and beyond, folks. Today, those who managed to get in early online pre-orders will see their shipments arrive.
Meanwhile, at Apple Stores, people still waited in line to try their luck for iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch Series 2 availability. The Eaton Centre Apple Store in Toronto this morning, had zero iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2 units available for walk-ins. The same was at the West Edmonton Apple Store—very limited stock for walk-ins and small line ups.
Apple told the media yesterday iPhone 7 Plus was sold out, along with all Jet Black models, so this is not exactly surprising. Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus is still showing November availability on Apple’s website.
Apple’s unlocked iPhone 7 pricing is as follows in Canada:
iPhone 7
32GB – $899
128GB – $1029
256GB – $1159iPhone 7 Plus
32GB – $1049
128GB – $1179
256GB – $1309
Canadian carriers are also offering iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, available from Rogers, TELUS, Bell, Fido, Koodo, Virgin, SaskTel (soon), Videotron, MTS and Eastlink (Sept. 23).
Two-year contract pricing is pretty much the same across the board, depending on your monthly plan. Here’s pricing from Rogers, for example:

Went to Calgary Market mall this morning. There were hardly 40 people in the line. The shortest line up i have seen in years. They sold out of the AW2 space black 42mm. They have the 38mm though.
I got mine in at midnight right away but my phone isn’t coming till October 5. iPhone 7 Plus Matte Black 32 ????
What does it mean if you are 221 on the Rogers reservation system? I had thought that such a low number across Canada would get me a device today.
If you reserved for pickup in store, that number if for the store you chose to ship it too. Rogers really isn’t clear about that the reservation number actually means.
depending on the units shipped today you could be waiting 3-6 weeks for your phone … im #7 in line & im still waiting for my phone to be in store to pick up
Same here. #26 on the reserved list for matte black 32GB 7+ and didn’t move at all today.
If you’re living in a large city, you should really reserve and pick up through Apple (even with a subsidized carrier plan). Much easier and clearer process wise.
Went to Apple at 8 a.m. in Halifax to pick up the iPhone 7 (Black) that I preordered for my wife. The lines were very short. After months of saying I would pass this release I decided to try a Plus. I still feel the dual camera shout be available on the 4.7 model.
I was able to buy a 256 GB iPhone 7 Plus (Black). Perfect size, as I only have 18 GB left in my iPhone 6 128 GB. Staff said they received 2 Jet Black iPhones which went right away.
The dual camera is what I am interested in. I can use it for a few days and see if the size of the phone is ok for my usage and if the camera is what some of the reviews say it is.
The ? Watch was available in Halifax with only 2 people in that line when I left. I will hang on to mine for another year as we are quite happy with our watches.
Surprised to read that other larger cities had less stock available for walk ups.
Wow, two Jet Black models only at the store! Nice work on picking up the 7 Plus, can’t wait for that Portrait software update.
Still waiting for our 128GB Jet Black 7 Plus, but some progress as it moved to “preparing for shipment” early this morning.
Gary, hopefully you will get it faster than listed as sometimes is the case. Not sure what model or size the JB ones were here. The portrait software attracted me as well. Perhaps the dual cameras will inspire a few great apps.
BTW picked up Apple Leather cases and screen film. Lots of stock.

Just received my 128 Matte Black via UPS. About a half hour ago.Kinda surprised me because I was expecting it to arrive in the afternoon with the regular UPS ???? Apparently there is express UPS service and regular. My Apple Watch will be coming this afternoon!

Im in Toronto. Tracking info last said Mississauga then concord for my phone then viola!
When did you order your watch? I ordered mine around 5pm on September 9th and it says it wont arrive until sometime between Oct 12-24.
I ordered my watch a minute after I ordered my phone when the store first opened. Black stainless steel. It is great. Yeah if you ordered it 5pm that day I’m not surprised. Hopefully the time gets pushed forward for you. It’s possible!

One of the four montreal area Apple stores (the laval one) has a few of them, only the silver model in 32 gb though.

just pickup my 128GB Plus Rose Gold in Edmonton store, they still have tons of the 7 for walk in customers, just all Plus are reserved only. Happy with my new toy!
Most Apple stores in TO didn’t get their shipment of Watch series 2. Yorkdale had a number of them for walk-in’s but the alum black sports went pretty quickly.
Online reservations are up again with stock, just got 2 iPhone 7 Plus 128gb Black at Markville for 10:30am pickup
How slow are the 256 matte black iphone 7 pluses moving on Fido? lol … I was 82 last week. By mid week I was 80 (people must have cancelled). It was 79 on Thursday & all throughout Friday. I just woke up now and I’m at 78. I wonder if people with lower numbers than me with this order can confirm whether or not their numbers dipped as well overnight (which would indicate that it did ship and wasn’t a cancellation).

There was a guy in front of who had 2 reservations (he did it for safety). He didn’t take it so I bought it. I now have my 256 gb plus in matte black and the extra one (same but 128).
I can’t believe that happened LOL. Hope I get a decent amount. If not I’ll return it lol

Hey, anybody sold their 6s Plus on kijiji here (let’s say the 64 gb model)? How much did you sell it for in the end? I feel when I sold my 6 Plus last year I got less than I thought compared to the prices people were putting up on the website. Just trying to see how much getting the 7 Plus will cost me.
I sold my 128GB 6s Plus Rose Gold for $750. I was hoping to get $800 – $850. I probably could have if I had held out a bit longer.

you guys talked about when it arrived but on Saturday morning i checked and almost all toronto stores had the iphone 7 ready for pick up. my friend works in an apple store and yeah it was busy but not so many people to buy an iphone 7. she told me everyone asking for the plus.
Hey guys wanted to let you know that my Jet Black 7+ 128gb has shipped and is due to arrive this Tuesday the 20th. My original ship dates were Sep27- Oct4. I ordered at 3:02am ET through the store app and received confirmation at 3:03am ET. Hopefully this brings some hope to others that are wondering what the heck is going on!

Got my iPhone 7 plus on launch day… delivered on time. With the reserve and pick at Apple Store, I feel it’s going to be easier… or at least made easy to check online the stuck and reserve…
What I’m a little disappointed, it’s for the Apple Watch series 2… I didn’t order one on pre order and now all models are 3-5 weeks and stores seems to have none… or had a few only… oh well… will keep checking for store pickup and maybe cancel my order if I can get my hand on one.

Call me crazy I splurged on the stainless steel. The heft of the stainless steel was just too solid to ignore. Got it with the sports band, and will search out third party bands later
Well the call became easier since all aluminum models in 42mm quickly sold out. And I actually chased it through two locations in the west GTA
Overall good first impression. The only issues I’ve had were deciding to automatically install all of my iPhone apps with related watch versions (don’t do it immediately, pick and choose), and some apps like Facebook Messenger and theScore not quickly syncing. Found some workarounds for that
If there’s one thing I would want in the near future is for third party fitness apps to be able to use the GPS in the watch. As they are now, they still need the iPhone (this is one of the main reasons for the purchase). The stock workout app is okay, but I’m with another app to log my running and would like to continue having realtime tracking with that instead of entering information logs after. But I did take it out for a jog on Sunday and overall was happy with the GPS functionality
About the only disappointment I can say there is, is with the pairing of bluetooth headsets for playing locally stored music. I spent more than 20mins pairing them (I eventually paired two). And even then, the music had some static and cut in and out. It generally only improved if I kept my wrist at chest level while running and not at my side when walking. I’m wondering if that’s the watch or the quality of the bluetooth buds
Finally I was really impressed with that taptic feedback. First time I’ve experienced it, and it really is different from a typical vibration. So I’m going to give it more of a go, but this thing on my wrist now might grow on me

I got it yesterday. UPS had a mechanical problem with a plane in Korea. Probably Samsung S7 that exploded in the plane 😀

Has anyone started seeing movement this week with their carrier reservations? I’m with Fido and have been sitting at #2 and OPEN status since last Thursday morning (I was originally #40). A Fido rep told me that the position in line is your position across the country. I reserved a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus in matte black. That means that Fido only received 38 of that model at launch and they all went out on launch day. I’m wondering how long until they get the next batch! Anyone seeing anything form their carriers?

Bell still showing “processing” no dates yet for the regular Black 32GB, checked with Bell and they didn’t have any insight but did say it might be November which seems a bit long. Hopefully its sooner.

After a day of constantly refreshing Apple’s reserve and pick up system I was able to get what I’ve been waiting on Fido for – 7+ Black 128GB for carrier pick up! If you’re on a carrier waiting list and have the time/patience to keep on top of their system you should be able to find what you’re looking for (assuming you’ve got a local Apple Store and you aren’t looking for the Jet Black) – Happy hunting everyone, until next September!

Finally my 7 Plus JetBlack shipped today! delivery date was oct 5-12, UPS shows it in China though:( anyone knows how long it usually takes to get to Canada?
Finally got my JetBlack yesterday and it has the hissing sound from the CPU, what’s worse is that tou can hear it very loud in every video I took on the phone, going to Apple Store to replace it, hope they have replacement JetBlack in stock!
