A new internal sketch of Apple’s rumoured iPad Pro has surfaced through a Foxconn employee, giving us a first look at the physical features of the larger tablet.

The employee who captured the sketches of the larger device says mass production of the new iPad will begin soon. This could mean that Apple may launch the device later this year.

“Captured gently by a worker who claims to work in a factory FOXCONN, the snapshot below seems to confirm the existence of the imposing shelf. The employee in question specifies that the phases of testing (EVT) launched in the course of last summer were halted following the recent approval by Apple last prototypes made by a subcontractor and that production top boxes that will host the components of this iPad XXL is about to start.”

The report notes that the device will be between 6.9 and 7.5mm thick, and will feature four integrated speakers (two on top and two on the bottom). The iPad Pro is expected to feature a screen size between 12.2 and 12.9 inches along with an A8X processor, 2GB of RAM, and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

It is still unknown as to if or when Apple will launch its larger-screened iPad. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that production would begin sometime in the second quarter of 2015 due to the increased attention on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus production.
