Learn How To Code iPhone Apps With The Upcoming “Try iOS” Course

Typically when people wish to learn how to code, whether it be CSS or Ruby, a college class would be an excellent choice. But a website called Code School can teach you similar information for a monthly fee of $25.00.

Code School’s upcoming installment to their course guide will be dubbed “Try iOS”. The course is being constructed for a November release date and will teach current coders with basic coding knowledge how to create an iOS application. Developer Eric Allam notes, “we’re not going to teach what strings, methods, and classes are,” and suggests you learn the basics from Code Academy.

The unique part of the upcoming Try iOS course is the interactive elements expected. After learning specific course material, you can build iPhone apps inside the in-browser simulator. On the left-side you can continue to code, while on the right-side you can test out your application. And the best part of all, this is all completed on the internet, by no mean will you have to download software.

Our course will combine high quality screencasts, in-browser code challenges, and gamification principles to make learning fun. There will be no need to install anything, since students will build iPhone apps using our in-browser iPhone simulator (see the video above for a demo).

To build this course, Code School went to Kickstarter for help. The project launched yesterday and has raised $21,500 in nearly 24 hours. A $25.00 pledge will grant you full access to the course beginning in November. A $75.00 pledge promises early access to the course weeks before the official release.
