MBNA Canada Apple Pay Still Set for ‘Mid-2017’; HSBC Canada Says “Coming Our Way Shortly”

Five months ago, MBNA Canada (a subsidiary of TD Canada) announced its Apple Pay launch was slated for mid-2017, and according to the latest tweets from the company, that timeline is still intact.

Earlier this month, MBNA Canada told customers “Work is underway to bring Apple Pay to our customers. Launch is scheduled for mid-2017. Will share update as soon as we can.”

Apple Pay is currently supported in Canada by American Express, TD Canada, RBC, BMO, CIBC, Scotiabank, PC Financial, Tangerine (MasterCard), Desjardins, ATB and Canadian Tire MasterCards.

If you were wondering about HSBC Canada, the bank told users on Twitter “it’s coming our way shortly,” which sounds like the next 3-4 months?
