Earlier this week, McDonald’s Canada moved to mobile orders and closed down seating areas to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, offering take out, Drive-Thru and McDelivery only.
Now, McDonald’s Canada has taken a further step to ditch take-out altogether, as it completely shuts down dining rooms, opting only for Drive-Thru and McDelivery service.
“With our people, our guests and our communities in mind, we have made the decision to stop offering take-out and curbside service. Our restaurant dining rooms will be fully closed as of midnight tonight. Drive-Thru and McDelivery service continue to be available,” explained McDonald’s Canada, in a press release.
McDonald’s says select franchisees will keep restaurants open with take-out, for those located in areas near hospitals and healthcare facilities.
“We thank our guests for their ongoing support of restaurant employees as they work hard to provide food to our communities at a time of need. We thank our fantastic restaurant teams for continuing to do their best for our guests every day,” concluded McDonald’s Canada.
It’s still possible to place mobile orders with McDonald’s Canada, but choose to pick up your order through the take out window. The only other option is McDelivery through UberEats or SkipTheDishes.
