A jeweller named Pablo Cimadevila has recently shared an interesting video on his YouTube channel, showing the process of making 18K gold AirPods. It must be pointed out that he does not just coat the standard white AirPods with gold but rather forges his own, custom AirPods by melting solid 18K gold.
The video shows the whole process of making “AirGolds,” from tearing down the AirPods without damaging them, to making a custom cast to melting the gold and then the impressive detailing to create the stunning finished and fully working AirPods.
Here’s what he writes in the video description:
“This is not an apple advertising and airgolds are not for sell. The idea of ??turning airpods into gold is inspired by the campaign think different that was an advertising slogan used from 1997 to 2002 by Apple. The slogan has been widely taken as a response to IBM’s slogan “Think”. It was used in a television advertisement, several print advertisements, and several TV promos for Apple products.”
