RiverTV Streaming Service Adds CBC Channels to Core TV Package

VMedia’s live TV streaming service, RiverTV, announced on Monday its core TV package now includes channels from CBC/Radio-Canada, in both English and French, to go with CBC News Network and ICI RDI.

The RiverTV core TV package now includes up to 38 channels and starts at $16.99 CAD per month, which the company says is “Canada’s best-value TV streaming service.

Also new is documentary Channel, ICI ARTV and ICI Explora will be available on RiverTV’s Add-Ons section.

“RiverTV is excited to include the CBC/Radio-Canada suite of channels in our lineup,” said Alexei Tchernobrivets, CEO of VMedia Inc., the parent company of RiverTV, in an issued statement. “Canada’s national public broadcaster is an essential element of any TV package, and we are delighted to add CBC/Radio-Canada English and French channels featuring outstanding shows, news and sports events in both official languages.”

The streaming service is targeted at cord-cutting Canadians and offers viewing from the web and a variety of devices, including the web, iOS, Apple TV, Android, Android TV, Roku players, Roku TV models, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Edition smart TVs.

VMedia also supports Apple’s single sign-on service, allowing existing users to sign into their TV account and have the password saved to iCloud Keychain, making for easy access from all Apple devices.
