Samsung Has Reportedly Offered its Foldable Displays to Apple, Google

According to a new report by ETNews, Samsung has offered to supply its foldable displays to Apple and Google and has already provided some display samples to the two tech giants (via MacRumors). At present, it is providing the OLED display for Apple’s flagship iPhones.

The source notes that instead of keeping the foldable display technology to itself, Samsung is planning to become the leading supplier of flexible displays in the world.

The South Korean company currently has the ability to produce over 2.4 million foldable display units a year and depending on demand, it plans to move up to producing 10 million units annually:


According to the industry on the 27th, Samsung Display made a set of foldable display and delivered it to Apple. This set, which is actually powered like a smartphone, has a 7.2-inch size foldable panel. 7.2 inches is 0.1 inches smaller than the Samsung Folder ‘Galaxy Fold’.

The iPhone maker has been working on foldable display technology for the past many years with multiple patents remerging on the implementation of similar technology.
