SpaceX Starlink Users Getting ‘Much Higher’ Download Speeds

As reported by the folks over at Tesla North, SpaceX Starlink satellite internet users are currently getting significantly higher download speeds, which according to CEO Elon Musk, is due to system upgrades being tested.

“You might see much higher download speeds on Starlink at times. Testing system upgrades,” tweeted Musk earlier today.

When asked about when Starlink’s internet services will reach San Francisco’s Bay area, Musk replied, “Probably mid year, but Starlink is really meant for those who are least served. Bay usually has great Internet.”

The above tweet from a Starlink beta tester showing Fast.com speed test results confirms much higher download speeds than before.

This Sunday, SpaceX is planning to launch 60 more Starlink satellites into space, building on its constellation which sits at over 1,100 in space.
