Tim Hortons Announces All-Digital ‘Roll Up to Win’ Contest

The Tim Hortons ‘Roll Up the Rim to Win’ contest is set to debut next month under the new name of ‘Roll Up to Win’, as the annual game goes all digital.
The coffee chain says 2021 brings the “largest prize pool ever” and the contest will see every Roll a winner. There will be grand prizes, plus free coffees and donuts. This year, digital prizes like Tims Rewards points and subscriptions to popular streaming services will make their debut.
“It became clear to us in the months that followed that the ongoing pandemic was likely to impact Roll Up again this year. As we began evaluating the plan for this year’s contest and making it our most exciting game ever, we focused on two ideas,” said Chief Marketing Officer Hope Bagozzi, in a statement.
Customers can earn one or more Rolls on eligible purchases by scanning their Tims Rewards card or via the Tim Hortons mobile app.
For 2021, Rolls will now be added to purchases of select cold beverages, breakfast sandwiches and breakfast wraps, joining hot beverages. Orders placed for delivery within the Tim Hortons app will also get a Roll for each eligible purchase.
Tim Hortons says the mobile app will show Roll results, along with the web as well.
The change to digital started last year during COVID-19, as normally staff would need to handle physical cups from customers for redeeming prizes.
The new Roll Up To Win contest launches March 8 and runs through April 4.
