The National Hockey League (NHL) and Twitter have teamed up to launch the latest emoji available on the social network: the hockey puck. The timing of this announcement coincides with the start of the NHL season, which kicked off last night.
How to make the Twitter hockey puck appear? It’s easy, all you have to do is tweet the following hashtag: #NHLFaceOff and it will appear, like below (it will show in the official Twitter iOS app):

Earlier this summer, in time for Canada Day, Twitter announced (again) a maple leaf emoji for Canadians to use.
